SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981. is declared to be an
emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, it shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT concerning
Anne Arundel County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Board of Liquor License Commissioners)
FOR the purpose of altering the amount which shall be paid
for expenses incurred by the inspectors of the Anne
Arundel County Board of Liquor License Commissioners.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
158.
(d) In Anne Arundel County (1) the mayor, counsellor
and aldermen of Annapolis shall have the power to make and
enforce such rules, regulations and restrictions, in
addition to, or in substitution of, those contained in this
article, but not inconsistent therewith, as in the judgment
of [said] THE mayor, counsellor and aldermen of the City of
Annapolis would give [said] THE municipality more effective
control of each of [said] THE places of business.
(2) In addition to the powers given to the board
of license commissioners for Anne Arundel County in
subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the board is
authorized to employ one part-time chief inspector at an
annual salary of $5,000, and ten part-time inspectors at an
