each offense; and providing for the deposit of moneys
in the general funds of Howard County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

Section 158(n)(l) and (2), 193, and 203(j)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

158.

(n) (1) The board of license commissioners of Howard
County may employ such inspectors as may be necessary at
such compensation as the County Council may by budget
provide. The inspectors of Howard County shall be known as
"alcoholic beverage inspectors for Howard County," and they
shall each have all the powers of a peace officer or a
constable or sheriff of the State of Maryland, and shall
make oath to faithfully perform the duties entrusted to
them, as provided in Article 1, § 6 of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland. [They shall each furnish bond in the
penalty of $2,000.00 to the board of license commissioners
of Howard County and Howard County, Maryland, jointly,
conditioned that they shall well and faithfully execute
their office in all things appertaining thereto. The cost
of said bond shall be paid by Howard County.] The
inspectors shall have such duties as the board of license
commissioners of Howard County may prescribe.

(2) The services of the bureau of inspection and
licenses, the office of the county solicitor, and other
county departments and offices shall be made available to
the board. [The head of the bureau of inspection, permits
and licenses shall act ex officio as secretary to the board
of license commissioners and shall receive no extra
compensation for such services.]

193.

For the purpose of all hearings and inquiries which the
Comptroller, the board of license commissioners for any
county or Baltimore City, or the State Appeal Board are
authorized to hold and make, the official, boards and Appeal
Board, and the respective members thereof, are authorized to
issue summons for witnesses, and to administer to them oaths
or affirmations, and all summonses so issued shall be served
by the police department of the City of Baltimore or by the
