seasons; and generally relating to deer hunting in this
State.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Natural Resources

Section 10-415

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1974 Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

10-415.

(a) There are [two] THREE seasons to hunt deer[,]: [an
archery] A BULL BOW HUNTING season [and], a firearms season,
AND A MUZZLE LOADER SEASON.

[(b) Except in Dorchester County a person may hunt
only one deer during each deer season. The deer limit in
Dorchester County is subject to the provisions of § 10-415.1
of this article.]

(B) IN DORCHESTER COUNTY DURING EACH OF THE SEASONS
FOR HUNTING DEER, A PERSON MAY HUNT, PURSUE OR KILL AT LEAST
ONE WHITETAIL DEER OF EITHER SEX AND TWO SIKA DEER OF EITHER
SEX WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A SPECIAL ANTLERLESS PERMIT.

[(c)] (B) Every person killing a deer shall report
with the deer to a designated checking station within 24
hours after killing the deer.

[(d)] (C) A person may not remove the head or hide
or any part from any deer, except internal organs, or cut
the meat into parts until it has been weighed and checked by
the Department or one of its agents at a designated checking
station. Removal of the head or the hide of any deer, not
checked at a designated checking station shall be prima
facie evidence that the deer was hunted illegally. Each
separate deer or part of any deer taken illegally or found
in possession shall be considered a separate offense.

[(e)] (D) Any person who hunts deer and any person
who accompanies, aids, or assists another person hunting
deer, shall wear either a cap, vest, or jacket or a jacket
containing back and front panels of a daylight fluorescent
orange color. This section does not apply to any person who
hunts on his property without a hunter's license nor to any
person hunting deer with a bow and arrow during the season
restricted to hunting with a bow and arrow.
