LAWS OF MARYLAND
Ch.8
(2) AN APPROVED STANDARD SUBCONTRACTED WORK
AUTHORIZATION FORM THAT IS OF A COLOR DIFFERENT THAN THE
STANDARD WORK AUTHORIZATION FORM.
(E) WORK REQUESTS FROM OUTSIDE THIS STATE.
A DENTAL LABORATORY IN THIS STATE MAY DO DENTAL
LABORATORY WORK ON THE REQUEST OF A DENTIST LICENSED AND
PRACTICING IN ANY OTHER STATE OR A FOREIGN COUNTRY IF THE
REQUEST:
(1) IS ON THE FORM THAT THE BOARD REQUIRES OR A
REASONABLY EQUIVALENT FORM; AND
(2) OTHERWISE MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SUBTITLE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 32, §
25(c)2. — except the last clause of 2.b. — the
first sentence, the first clause of the second
sentence, and the entire fifth sentence of §
25(c)3., and the first sentence, the first clause
of the second sentence, and the entire fifth
sentence of § 25(c)6.
In subsection (b) of this section, the
requirement in present Art. 32, § 25(c)2.f. for
the signature of the dentist is deleted as
needlessly repetitive of the requirement in
subsection (a) of this section that the work
authorization be signed by a licensed dentist.
Subsection (e) of this section is revised to
state expressly what presently is only implied in
the law — that a dental laboratory may perform
dental laboratory work for an out-of-state
dentist, but only if the out-of-state dentist
uses a form similar to the form approved by the
Board and otherwise complies with the
requirements of this subtitle.
The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code calls
to the attention of the General Assembly that,
although there are provisions relating to dental
laboratory work requests from outside this State,
there are no provisions governing subcontracting
that work into or out of this State.
