AN ACT concerning

Social Workers - Issuance of License

FOR the purpose of altering the requirements for social work
experience by applicants for licensure as certified
social workers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Health Occupations
Section 18-302(d)
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) of the Acts

of the General Assembly of 1981)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter_____(H.B.I) of the Acts of the

General Assembly of 1981) be repealed, amended, or enacted
to read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

18-302.

(d) An applicant for a certified social worker license
shall have:

(1)  A master's degree:

(i) From an accredited college or
university and based on a graduate social work program
accredited by the council on social work education; and

(ii) 2 years of social work experience
AFTER RECEIVING THE MASTER'S DEGREE AND under the
supervision of a licensed certified social worker; or

(2)  (i) A doctorate in social work; and

(ii) Completed a graduate social work
program accredited by the council on social work education.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
