Section 7A 3.
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 95 - Treasurer
7A.
3. [The Treasurer, at the end of each fiscal year,
shall determine the checks which have remained in the
"Unpresented Checks Fund" for a period of five years and
shall secure from the Comptroller a warrant transferring the
amount, in excess of a minimum balance as determined by the
Treasurer, of such checks from the "Unpresented Checks Fund"
to the general funds of the State, or when the source of the
funds is of a revolving or restricted nature, the amount of
such checks shall be returned to their source upon proper
advice of the agency involved.] AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL
YEAR THE TREASURER SHALL SET A REASONABLE MINIMUM BALANCE
THAT HE CONSIDERS NECESSARY TO PAY ANY CHECK THAT IS
PRESENTED FROM AMONG THOSE CHECKS THAT WERE CREDITED TO THE
UNPRESENTED CHECKS FUND. THE TREASURER THEN SHALL SECURE
FROM THE COMPTROLLER A WARRANT TRANSFERRING ANY EXCESS
BALANCE IN THE FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THIS STATE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

not preclude the City of Baltimore from enacting
legislation prohibiting certain discriminatory
practices based on the sex, age, or physical or mental
handicap of any person; and making stylistic changes.
