AN ACT concerning
Private Detectives - Employment and Registration of
Assistants
FOR the purpose of increasing the fee for registering
private detectives; requiring the filing of
applications for private detectives, security guards,
and watchmen; imposing a fee for registering security
guards and watchmen; requiring that applications be
approved or disapproved by the Superintendent;
providing for notice to applicants of approval or
disapproval; providing for the promulgation of
regulations to establish criteria for the
Superintendent's decision; and providing for appeal of
the Superintendent's decision.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 56 - Licenses

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
81.
(a) The holder of any license issued under the
provisions of this subtitle may employ to assist him in his
work and in the conduct of his business as many persons as
he may deem necessary, and he shall at all times during such
employment be accountable for the good conduct in the
business of each and every person so employed. Each
individual permanent and part-time employee of a licensee
under § 78 of this subtitle, acting as a detective, shall be
registered and pay an application fee of [twenty-five
dollars ($25.00); but each individual detective employee
