Section 3(e)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1979 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 49B - Human Relations Commission

(b) The members of the Commission may not receive any
compensation for their services but shall be paid their
expenses while engaged in the discharge of their official
duties, in accordance with the standard travel regulations
AS WELL AS A PER DIEM AS PROVIDED IN THE BUDGET FOR
ATTENDING REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION,
INCLUDING PARTICIPATION IN ANY HEARINGS REQUIRED BY THE
ADMINISTRATIVE APPEAL PROCESS.

(d) The [Commission] COMMISSIONERS, in addition to
[its] THEIR other duties, shall serve as an appeal board for
the review of decisions of the hearing examiner. The
appellate panel of commissioners, as determined by the rules
of procedure of the Commission, may allow any party affected
by the examiner's decision to introduce FOR GOOD CAUSE SHOWN
additional relevant testimony or evidence at the time of an
appeal from the hearing examiner.

(E) THE COMMISSION SHALL SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT TO
THE GOVERNOR AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 1
EACH YEAR OF WORK OF THE COMMISSION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
