LAWS OF MARYLAND
Ch.8
(1) EACH HOLDER OF A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY, A LIMITED LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY, OR A
TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY SHALL NOTIFY THE
SECRETARY OF THE BOARD IN WRITING WITHIN 60 DAYS OF ANY
CHANGE OF OFFICE ADDRESS.
(2) A LICENSEE WHO FAILS TO NOTIFY THE SECRETARY
OF THE BOARD OF ANY CHANGE OF OFFICE ADDRESS AS PROVIDED IN
THIS SUBSECTION SHALL PAY TO THE BOARD A LATE FEE OF $10.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the last phrase
of the last sentence of Art. 32, § 6(a) and from
Art. 32, §§ 6(c) and 29(f).
In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the
phrase "license and any current renewal
certificate" is substituted for "registration
certificate" and "certificate of registration" in
present Art. 32, §§ 6(a) and 29(f), for clarity
and to conform with changes in terminology made
throughout this title. See the General Revisor's
Note to this title.
In subsection (b) of this section, the phrase
"office where the holder is engaged in practice"
is substituted for "office location as noted on
his certificate" in present Art. 32, § 6(a), for
clarity. The revised language more clearly
expresses the intent of the present law — that
each individual licensed to practice dentistry
shall keep the license and renewal certificate at
the location where the licensee currently
practices.
In subsection (c) of this section the term "late
fee" is substituted for "fine" in present Art.
32, § 6(c), to clarify that the fee is imposed by
the Board and not by a court.
The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code calls
to the attention of the General Assembly that
there is no mechanism in this title by which the
Board may enforce the $10 late fee. The General
Assembly may wish to consider legislation to
provide for enforcement, e.g., by making payment
of the late fee a condition to license renewal.
4-314. DENIALS, REPRIMANDS, PROBATIONS, SUSPENSIONS, AND
REVOCATIONS — GROUNDS AVAILABLE.
(A) RELATING TO A LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY.
SUBJECT TO THE HEARING PROVISIONS OF § 4-317 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, THE BOARD MAY DENY A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY, A LIMITED LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY, OR A
TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY TO ANY APPLICANT,
