LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

In subsection (d)(7) and (8) of this section, the
term "principal" is added for clarity and to
conform to practice.

The last sentences of present Art. 32, §§ 6A(d)
and 30(d), which state that revocation or
suspension of a license in another state is a
sufficient ground for denying a license to an
individual who is on inactive status, are deleted
as unnecessarily repetitive of § 4-314(a)(7) and
(b)(6) of this subtitle.

As to the authority of the Board to set fees, see
§ 4-207 of this title.

4-311. REINSTATEMENT OF EXPIRED LICENSE.

THE BOARD SHALL REINSTATE A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY, A TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY, A
GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTAL HYGIENE, OR A TEACHER'S
LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTAL HYGIENE THAT IS EXPIRED ONLY IF
THE LICENSEE:

(1)  MEETS THE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS OF § 4-309 OF
THIS SUBTITLE; AND

(2)  PAYS TO THE BOARD A REINSTATEMENT FEE OF:

(I)  $10 FOR A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY OR A TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTISTRY; OR

(II)  $5 FOR A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTAL HYGIENE OR A TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTAL
HYGIENE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 32, §§ 6(b)
and 29(e).

Item (1) of this section is new language added
for clarity. It states expressly what presently
is only implied in the law — that, for the Board
to reinstate an expired license, the licensee
must meet the requirements for renewing that
license.

The word "expired" is substituted for "suspended"
to clarify the distinction between nonrenewal of
a license under § 4-309 of this subtitle and
suspension of a license under § 4-314 of this
subtitle. For a further discussion of the
licensing and renewal process, see the General
Revisor's Note to this article.

4-312. TEMPORARY LICENSE TO PRACTICE DENTAL HYGIENE.

(A) AUTHORITY TO ISSUE.
