LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 237

The reference to a "hole made in the ground" is
substituted for the references in NR § 8-601(h)
to types of holes and to methods of making holes.

The phrase "underground formation from which
ground water may be produced" is substituted for
the definition of "aquifer" in NR § 8-601(c) for
conciseness.

(G) WELL SYSTEM EQUIPMENT.

(1)  "WELL SYSTEM EQUIPMENT" MEANS ANY EQUIPMENT
THAT IS NECESSARY TO DRAW OR PURIFY WATER FROM A WELL.

(2)  "WELL SYSTEM EQUIPMENT" INCLUDES ANY CASING,
GROUT, SCREEN, WATER TANK, WATER PUMP, OR WATER CONDITIONING
EQUIPMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
in part from NR § 8-601(e), as that subsection
relates to the various types of equipment used
for well drilling. It is added to avoid needless
repetition of the various items of equipment.

In paragraph (1) of this subsection, the phrase
"draw or purify" is substituted for the phrase
"draw and purify" to clarify that equipment that
may serve only one of those functions is
included, e.g., a chlorinator used to purify
water.

In paragraph (2) of this subsection, the terms

clarity.

"grout", and "screen" are added for

21-102.

SCOPE OF TITLE.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THIS TITLE DOES NOT LIMIT THE RIGHT OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO
PRACTICE A HEALTH OCCUPATION THAT THE INDIVIDUAL IS
AUTHORIZED TO PRACTICE UNDER THIS ARTICLE.

(B)  MASTER PLUMBER.

THIS TITLE DOES NOT LIMIT THE RIGHT OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO
INSTALL OR REPAIR A WATER PUMP, A WATER TANK, OR WATER
CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS AUTHORIZED TO
PRACTICE AS A MASTER PLUMBER IN THIS STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language added to reflect more accurately the
state of the present law and to conform to the
language used in similar provisions in other
titles of this article.
