AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City - Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board -

Additional Members

FOR the purpose of extending the time for which additional
members may be appointed to the Property Tax Assessment
Appeals Board; and clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes
Section 248(a)(2)(i)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1980 Replacement Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

248.

(a) (2) (i) 1. In Baltimore City, to augment the
members of the board created in paragraph (1), there shall
be additional members appointed as provided in that
paragraph, so that the membership totals 12.

2.  Each of the additional members
shall be appointed for a term not extending beyond July 1,
[1981 and] 1982.

3.  SUBSECTION (b) OF THIS SECTION
does not apply to [them] ADDITIONAL MEMBERS APPOINTED UNDER
THIS SUBPARAGRAPH.

4.  If a vacancy occurs among the
additional members, a replacement member may [likewise] be
appointed for the remainder of the term.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
