AN ACT concerning

Hunting - Fur-Bearing Mammals

FOR the purpose of altering the time a person may not hunt
or trap certain fur-bearing mammals; and repealing a
restriction on hunting or trapping, or the possession
of the meat or pelt of raccoons and opossums.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

10-406.

(a) Except [between January 1 and March 15,] DURING
THE HUNTING AND TRAPPING SEASON OR AS ALLOWED UNDER
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, a person may not hunt or
trap any fur-bearing mammal[, except raccoon or opossum,] or
possess the meat or pelt of any fur-bearing mammal, [except
raccoon or opossum,] whether hunted or trapped within the
State or any other state, territory, or country.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
