      Greetting Know Yee of y^e Great Trust & Confidence we have in yo^r fidelitie
      Circumspection prudence Wisedome have Constituted ordained & appoÿnted & bÿ these Doe
      Constitute, ordaine & appoÿnt: y^w y^e S^d Elias King, John Whittington, Charles Hÿnson
      Tho: Ringold, John Sallter, Phillip Hopkins, Sollomon Wright, John Wells Michael
      Miller, Anthonÿ Ivÿ, John Jordon ~ Gentⁿ
           Commison^rs. Joÿntlÿ & Sev^ll: to keep y^e peace in our Countÿ of Kent, and to keep &
      Cause to be kept all & orders for y^e good Conservation of y^e peace & for y^e quiett rule and
      Goverm^t: of y^e people in all & Everÿ y^e articles of y^e Same & Chastize & puñish all p^rsons—
      offending ag^t y^e form of y^e Laws orders and Constitutions of our Province of Marÿland
      or anÿ of them in y^e Countÿ of Kent as according to y^e form of those Laws shall be
      fitt to be Done Wee have allsoe Constituted & apppoÿnted y^w: & Eveÿ four or more of y^w
      of w^ch y^w: y^e S^d Elias King, Jhon Whittington Charles Hÿnson Thomas Ringold and
      Joⁿ Sallter or one of y^w: Shall allwaÿs be one of y^e Com^rs: to Enquire bÿ y^e oathes of
      good & Lawfull men of yo^r Countÿ afs^d of all manner of Fellonÿes, witchcrafts, In=
    =chantm^ts. & Sorecerÿes, Magick arts, forestalling, Ingrossing & Extortions and all ~~other~~
      & Singular other misdem^rs whatever of w^ch Justices of y^e peace of our Kingdome of
      England maÿ or ought lawfully to Enquire bÿ whomesoever or wheresoever Done
      or p^rpetrated or which hereafter Shall happen to be Done or p^rpertrated in y^e Countÿ
