March Court 1704 The Grand Jurÿ Called and appears as under vizt
Edward Plestoe becometh bound (acording to Law) to this Court, to Endemnified This Countÿ from anÿ trouble or Charges yt Shall or maÿ accrew upon of a bastard Child that Laÿd to one Thÿmothÿ Thomas |att this Court) bÿ a Certaine Ellinr Sullivane, and allsoe |the Sd Plestoe) assumes to make Such Satisfaction to ye Sd Ellinr’s Master |being Mr: John Wells) as this Court Shall hereafter adjudge to ye Sd master for ye trouble he Sustaineth in this behalfe The Statutes of Drunkness are here read in open Court as ye Law requireth in Such Cases Mr: Michael Miller one of her majestÿs Commissiors: for this Countÿ, is here Ellected & ordered bÿ this Court to admiñester to ye weddow Rickord, or to take ye oath from anÿ other person quallified, Concerning ye age of a Certaine Samuell Thomas an orphan boÿ. Edwar Tippins and Thomas Hall Sworn and Sent to ye Grand Jurÿ, to Saÿ the truth of what what Shall be Asked &ca Henerÿ Williams & Marÿ ONeale are Sworn & Sent |ut Supra) William Sweatnam prove an acct of runawaÿ time agt his mallatoe for Seaventhree Daÿs as allso an other acct agt ye Sd mallatoe for one hundred & twentÿ four Daÿs in 1695: & 1696 yt ye Sd mallatoe abscented himselfe from to his Sd master according to act of assemblÿ in Such Cases made and provided That William Sweatnam acknowledges before this Court That he hath Sould the Said mallatoe, wth: ye runawaÿ times afsd & ye Judgmt: theron Granted To John Hawkins Sherf of this Countÿ |
