such as the cost of surveys, appraisals, title search, and
legal fees, if the total projects which are reimbursed for
incidental costs are limited to the fee schedules approved
by the Board of Public Works for the incidental costs; or

(5) For Baltimore City [and for the period
beginning July 1, 1975 and ending June 30, 1982] operation
and maintenance of any recreational facilities owned and
operated by the city, if the amount of the funds expended
does not exceed the proportion of the allocation to
Baltimore City which is derived from current revenues, as
distinguished from proceeds of bond issues.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Notaries Public - Residency Requirement

FOR the purpose of altering the State residency requirements
for persons appointed as notaries public; and
clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 68 - Notaries Public

Section 1(b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1978 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 68 - Notaries Public

1.

(b) Every person appointed shall be at least [eighteen
(18)] 18 years of age, of good moral character and
integrity, a citizen of the United States, a resident in
this State for a period of [two (2) years] 1 YEAR prior to
appointment, and a resident of the senatorial district and
subdistrict from which he or she is appointed. The
residence requirements shall not apply to persons having an
