ASSOCIATION COUNCIL ON MEDICAL EDUCATION OR SUCH OTHER
AGENCY RECOGNIZED BY THE NATIONAL COMMISSION ON ACCREDITING
AS AN AGENCY FOR THE APPROVAL OF POSTGRADUATE TRAINING
PROGRAMS AN ACCREDITING ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZED BY THE
COUNCIL ON POSTSECONDARY ACCREDITATION OR ITS SUCCESSOR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Insurance - Rate Filings

FOR the purpose of altering the waiting period, and

extension of the waiting period, before the

effectiveness of rate filings filed by insurers      with
the Insurance Commissioner.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 48A - Insurance Code

Section 242(d)(7)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1979 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

242.

(d) (7) Subject to the exception specified in
paragraphs (8) and (9) of this subsection, each filing shall
be on file for a waiting period of [fifteen] 30 working days
before it becomes effective, which period may be extended by
the Commissioner for an additional period not to exceed
fifteen 30 working days if he gives written notice within
this waiting period to the insurer or rating organization
which made the filing that he needs the additional time for
the consideration of the filing. Upon written application
