Employment Agency Advisory Board, the Maryland Board of
Examiners of Landscape Architects, the State Board of
Registration for Foresters, and such other agencies, boards,
commissions, councils, offices, or units of government as
may hereafter pursuant to lav be declared to be part of the
Department of Licensing and Regulation.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Ch. ___, Acts of 1980, which enacted
the Financial Institutions Article, also amended
this section to: (1) add a reference to the Bank
Regulations Board; (2) substitute references to
the "Board of Savings and Loan Association
Commissioners" and "Division of Savings and Loan
Associations" for the erroneous reference to the
"Division of Buildings, Savings and Loan
Association Commissioners" and conform to the
terminology in FI § 8-301; and (3) substitute
the title "Commissioner of Consumer Credit" for
the obsolete "Commissioner of Small Loans".

Article 56 — Licenses

230A.

(a) IN GENERAL.

It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or
association, whether or not acting for monetary gain,
knowingly to induce or attempt to induce another person to
transfer an interest in real property, or to sell or rent
any dwelling or to discourage another person from purchasing
real property, by representations regarding the entry or
prospective entry into the neighborhood of a person or
persons [with] OF a particular race, color, sex, religion,
or national origin, or by representations regarding the
existing or potential proximity of real property owned,
used, or occupied by persons of any particular race, color,
sex, religion, or national origin, or to represent that such
existing or potential proximity will or may result in: 1.
the lowering of property values; 2. a change in the racial,
religious, or ethnic character of the block, neighborhood or
area in which the property is located; 3. an increase in
criminal or antisocial behavior in the area; or 4. a
decline in quality of the schools serving the area.

(B) PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.

IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANT PERSON, FIRM, CORPORATION, OR
ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, WHETHER BY
LOAN, GIFT, OR OTHERWISE, TO ANY PERSON, FIRM, CORPORATION,
OR ASSOCIATION IF HE OR IT HAS ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE THAT THE
ASSISTANCE WILL BE USED IN A TRANSACTION RESULTING FROM A
VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION.

(C) PENALTY.
