who was convicted of violating this subtitle or any other
law that regulates "agreements". Similarly, §

11-414(a)(1)(i) of this subtitle only permits the
Commissioner to take disciplinary action against a person
who violates this subtitle or any other law that regulates
"agreements". See also §§ 11-413(b) and 11-417 of this
subtitle.

TITLE 12. MISCELLANEOUS INSTITUTIONS AND ACTIVITIES.
SUBTITLE 1. BANK SERVICES AND BANK SERVICE CORPORATIONS.
12-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)       IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language used as
the standard introductory language to a
definition section.

See also § 1-101 of this article for other
applicable definitions.

(B)        BANK.

"BANK" MEANS A STATE BANKING INSTITUTION OR NATIONAL
BANKING ASSOCIATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to clarify the present broad references to a
"bank", as contrasted to the occasional more
specific present references to a "bank subject to
examination by the Commissioner" (i.e., a State
"banking institution").

The terms "banking institution" and "national
banking association" are defined in § 1—101 of
this article.

(C)       BANK SERVICES.

(1)   "BANK SERVICES" MEANS ANY CLERICAL,
BOOKKEEPING, ACCOUNTING, STATISTICAL, OR SIMILAR SERVICES
PERFORMED FOR A BANK.

(2)   "BANK SERVICES" INCLUDES:

(I)   SORTING AND POSTING CHECKS OR

DEPOSITS;

(II)   COMPUTING AND POSTING INTEREST AND
OTHER CREDITS OR CHARGES; AND
