AN ACT concerning

The Classification Plan for Prince George's County

FOR the purpose of adding certain new classes of work;
deleting certain obsolete classes of work; changing the
grade level of and changing the titles of certain classes of
work so as to provide for a more orderly and equitable
system of classification of employees.

WHEREAS, the County Executive, pursuant to Section 903
of the Charter and Section 16-125(a) of Subtitle 16, of the
Prince George's County Code, 1975 Edition (December 1978
Supplement), has recommended to the County Council
amendments to the Classification Plan for Prince George's
County with respect to certain classes of work, described
within Section 1 of this bill, such being either new classes
recognized by the County to provide better governmental
services, removal of obsolete classes of work, pay grade
reassignments of classes in order to effect more equitable
internal alignment within the existing County Classification
Plan, and title changes which more accurately reflect the
nature of work performed.
