MENTAL HYGIENE AND THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES [of
Maryland, the Department of Geology, Mines and Water
Resources and the Water Pollution Control Commission] are
empowered to exercise over or within any district.
722. Annual [Joint] report summarizing water pollution
control program.
As a part of the comprehensive water pollution control
program, the [State] Department of Health and MENTAL HYGIENE
[the Department of Water Resources] shall submit a [joint]
report to the Governor and to the General Assembly no later
than June 1, 1969, which shall summarize the water pollution
control program for the State. The report, which shall be
prepared annually, shall include:
723. Training of personnel.
As a part of the comprehensive water pollution control
program, the [State] Department of Health AND MENTAL HYGIENE
[and the Department of Water Resources] may cooperate with
appropriate agencies for the training of technical and
associate level personnel as may be needed in the area of
water pollution control. For the purpose of this section,
the [Health] Department OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE [with
the approval of the Department of Water Resources] may enter
into contracts with appropriate institutions of higher
learning or appropriate agencies to develop the needed
curricula and to support training courses. For the purposes
of this section, an annual appropriation is authorized, in
such amount as provided in the budget from time to time in
the budget of the [State] Department of Health AND MENTAL
HYGIENE.
724. Studies, surveys, investigations, etc.; consultants.
As a part of the comprehensive water pollution control
program, the [Department of Water Resources and the State]
Department of Health AND MENTAL HYGIENE may conduct studies,
surveys, investigations, research and analyses, and may
engage consultants to accomplish the purposes of this
subtitle.
