A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
Alcohol Fuels
FOR the purpose of encouraging the Congress of the United
States to enact legislation to promote development,
production, and use of domestically produced
agricultural and biomass alcohol fuels.
There is a national shortage of liquid energy which
affects every State of our Union.
The United States is overly dependent on unstable and
interruptible foreign liquid energy sources.
The United States can obtain renewable liquid energy
from agricultural and other biomass sources; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Congress of the United States of America is encouraged to
pass legislation which will promote the development,
production, and use of domestically produced agricultural
and biomass alcohol fuels in the United States; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable Walter F. Mondale, President of the United States
Senate, The Capitol, Washington, D.C. 20510, and the
Honorable Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr., Speaker of the United
States House of Representatives, The Capitol, Washington,
D.C. 20515; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Maryland Congressional Delegation: Senators Charles McC.
Mathias, Jr. and Paul S. Sarbanes, Senate Office Building,
Washington, D.C. 20510; and Representatives Robert E.
