SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 78 - Public Service Commission Law

10.

The secretary shall have the following duties:

(1) [He shall be the chief administrative
officer of the Commission and shall carry out the
Commission's orders and policies.

(2)] He shall keep the records of the
Commission, including a full and true record of its
proceedings, all documents required to be filed by law or
ordered filed by the Commission, all orders, rules, rulings,
regulations and decisions of the Commission, and all the
Commission's dockets and files, and shall certify true
copies thereof[.];

[(3)] (2) He shall designate one of the
employees of the Commission to perform the duties of
secretary in his absence[.]; AND

[(4)] (3) He shall perform such other duties as
the Commission may prescribe.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

11A.

THE COMMISSION SHALL APPOINT AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WHO
SHALL RECEIVE THE COMPENSATION PROVIDED FOR IN THE STATE
BUDGET. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE
OF THE COMMISSION.
