(A)  EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN § 11-106 OF THIS ARTICLE,
THE LEGAL RATE OF INTEREST ON A JUDGMENT SHALL BE AT THE
RATE OF 10 PERCENT PER ANNUM ON THE AMOUNT OF JUDGMENT.

(B)  THE LEGAL RATE OF INTEREST ON A MONEY JUDGMENT FOR
RENT OF RESIDENTIAL PREMISES SHALL BE AT THE RATE OF 6
PERCENT PER ANNUM ON THE AMOUNT OF THE JUDGMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Battered Spouse Program

FOR the purpose of establishing the shelter home for
battered spouses as a permanent project; enabling the
Secretary of Human Resources to establish another
center and to extend the programs throughout the State
if funds are available; providing for an annual report;

FOR the purpose of establishing a statewide battered spouse
program, of which one component is a shelter home;
making the shelter home a permanent project; enabling
the Secretary of Human Resources to extend the program
throughout the State if funds are available;
eliminating the requirement that the Department carry
out certain managerial functions for each shelter home;
providing for an annual report; deleting certain
provisions; and renumbering certain provisions.
