8-1331.

THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PLANNING SHALL:

(1) REPORT ANNUALLY TO THE COMMISSION ON THE
PROGRESS OF THE PLAN; AND

(2) BRING THE PLAN TO THE GOVERNOR OF THIS STATE
AND THE APPROPRIATE LOCAL JURISDICTIONS FOR APPROVAL BY JULY
1, 1984.

8-1332.

THE FINAL PLAN SHALL BE PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PATUXENT RIVER COMMISSION.

8-1333.

THE PLAN SHALL BE APPROVED BY AT LEAST FIVE OF THE
SEVEN APPROPRIATE LOCAL JURISDICTIONS BEFORE SUBMISSION TO
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR APPROVAL.

8-1334.

THE PLAN, ONCE APPROVED, SHALL SERVE AS A POLICY GUIDE
TO BE UTILIZED BY STATE AGENCIES AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN
CARRYING OUT THEIR ACTION AND REGULATORY PROGRAMS IN THE
PATUXENT RIVER WATERSHED.

Article 88C - State Planning

(C) DEVELOP IN COORDINATION WITH OTHER APPROPRIATE
STATE DEPARTMENTS A POLICY PLAN FOR THE PATUXENT RIVER
WATERSHED. THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY FOR PREPARATION AND
DISTRIBUTION OF THE PLAN IS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE
PLANNING.

(1) THE PLANNING SHALL BEGIN WITH A REVIEW OF
EXISTING MARYLAND LAWS, REGULATIONS, POLICIES, PROGRAMS, AND
PLANS RELATING TO THE PATUXENT RIVER, IN ORDER TO EVALUATE
THEIR EFFECTIVENESS AND THE ADEQUACY OF THEIR
IMPLEMENTATION. THE REVIEW SHALL ALSO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
AREAS:

(I)  SCENIC RIVERS;

(II)  CRITICAL AREAS PROGRAMS;

(III)  COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PLANS;

(IV)  LOCAL COMPREHENSIVE PLANS; AND

(V)  REGIONAL PLANS.
