vehicle, without having to obtain a certificate of title in
his own name, after the vehicle has been in his possession
for 30 days.

(e) If [a wrecker] AN AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND
RECYCLER takes title to a vehicle under this section, the
[wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER shall certify
this fact to the Administration. The certification shall be
made in the form that the Administration requires and sent
to the Administration within 5 days after the [wrecker]
AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER takes title.

15-511.

(a) Each [wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER
and each scrap processor shall keep an accurate and complete
record of all vehicles acquired in his business.

15-512.

(c)   (2) If ownership of the destroyed vehicle was
transferred to the licensed scrap processor by a licensed
[wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER, the
Administration shall pay 50 percent of the amount required
to be paid by this section to the [wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE
DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER and 50 percent to the scrap
processor.

15-513.

[A wrecker] AN AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER AND RECYCLER may
not store vehicles at his place of business at a density of
more than 250 vehicles for any [one] 1 acre.

25-209.

(a) Any person who possesses or on whose property is
found an abandoned vehicle and any person who owns a
vehicle, for which the certificate of title is defective,
lost, or destroyed, may apply to the police department of
the jurisdiction m which the vehicle is located for
authority to transfer the vehicle to [a wrecker] AN
AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER OR RECYCLER or scrap processor.

(d)  (1) If an abandoned vehicle is not reclaimed in
the time required by this subtitle, the police department
shall give the applicant a certificate of authority to
transfer the vehicle to any [wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER
OR RECYCLER or scrap processor for dismantling, destroying,
or scrapping.

(2) The [wrecker] AUTOMOTIVE DISMANTLER OR
RECYCLER or scrap processor shall accept the certificate of
authority instead of the certificate of title of the
vehicle.
