SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 2(r) of Article 88C - State
Planning, of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to
be Section(s) 2(s).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

Article 88C - State Planning

(a) The Department of State Planning shall:

(R) PRODUCE ANNUALLY STATE AND LOCAL POPULATION

PROJECTIONS, WHICH INCLUDE AGE, SEX, AND RACE GROUPS WITHIN
EACH COUNTY, FOR EACH YEAR FOR THE 10 YEARS FOLLOWING THE
CURRENT YEAR AND FOR EACH FIFTH YEAR FOR A PERIOD OF 30

YEARS. IN PRODUCING THESE POPULATION PROJECTIONS THE

DEPARTMENT SHALL USE THE UNITED STATES DECENNIAL CENSUS
FIGURES AS A BASE.
