AN ACT concerning

Maryland Health and Higher Educational
Facilities Authority

FOR the purpose of providing that the Maryland Public Ethics

Law applies to the Maryland Health and Higher

Educational Facilities Authority; providing that, in
accordance with the Public Ethics Law, affiliation with
a financial institution does not constitute a conflict
of interest for members of the Authority; providing
that in certain circumstances a member does not have to
abstain from certain participation; defining certain
terms; and generally relating to the Maryland Health
and Higher Educational Facilities Authority and the
application of the Maryland Public Ethics Law.

BY adding to

Article 43C - Maryland Health and Higher Educational

Facilities Authority
Section 3(j)

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supplement)

FOR the purpose of repealing certain provisions relating to
conflicts of interest to clarify that all of the
provisions of the Maryland Public Ethics Law apply to
the Maryland Health and Higher Educational Facilities
Authority.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 43C - Maryland Health and Higher Educational

Facilities Authority
Section 4(k)

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

PREAMBLE

It is the intent of the General Assembly of Maryland,
in enacting this law and repealing the limited, existing"
conflict of interest provisions of law relating to the
Maryland Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority,
to clarify that all of the provisions of the Maryland Public
Ethics Law apply to the Authority.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
