COMMENCEMENT OF THE HEARING. SHOULD AN INTERPRETER THEN BE
REQUESTED BY THE EMPLOYEE, THE EMPLOYER OR THE UNION
REPRESENTATIVE OR THE EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATION SHALL REQUEST
THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR THE COORDINATION OF SERVICES TO
THE HANDICAPPED TO APPOINT ASSIST IN LOCATING A QUALIFIED
INTERPRETER TO ASSIST DEAF EMPLOYEES AT THE HEARING. THE
INTERPRETER SHALL ASSIST THE EMPLOYEE TO THE EXTENT
PERMISSIBLE AND NECESSARY DURING THE PROCEEDING FACILITATE
COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE AFFECTED PARTIES WHILE REMAINING
BOUND BY THE ACCEPTED NATIONAL REGISTRY OF INTERPRETERS FOR
THE DEAF CODE OF ETHICS. THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR THE
COORDINATION OF SERVICES TO THE HANDICAPPED SHALL PROMPTLY
PROVIDE AN INTERPRETER AND SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR THE
INCURRED COSTS BY THE EMPLOYER OR UNION EACH PARTY SHALL
PAY HALF THE COSTS. ASSIST IN LOCATING AN INTERPRETER. THE
COST OF THE INTERPRETER'S SERVICES SHALL BE DIVIDED EQUALLY
BETWEEN THE EMPLOYER AND THE UNION OR EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning
Revenue and Taxes - Date of Application for
Exemption for Churches
FOR the purpose of providing that a rebate shall be made
under certain circumstances for taxes paid by religious
groups and organizations on certain property; and
providing for limited retroactive application of the
provisions of this Act and the rebate mandated by it
changing the date for application for an exemption from
property taxation and relating generally to the
application for an exemption.
