(5) THE COMMISSIONER MAY APPROVE THE RATE STRUCTURE
FOR POLICIES OF ESSENTIAL PROPERTY INSURANCE AND HOMEOWNER'S
INSURANCE OFFERED THROUGH THE MARYLAND JOINT INSURANCE
ASSOCIATION, PROVIDED THE RATE STRUCTURE DOES NOT IN THE
OPINION OF THE COMMISSIONER, COMPETE WITH THE RATE OF THE
VOLUNTARY INSURANCE MARKET IN THIS STATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

Chancery - Alimony

FOR the purpose of defining, consolidating and establishing
the law with respect to alimony; establishing uniform
procedures for enforcing alimony obligations;
clarifying language, resolving conflicts, and defining
certain terms; and relating generally to alimony.

BY repealing

Article 16 - Chancery

Section 1, 2, 3, and 5 and the subtitle "Abatement and

Revivor"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1973 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article 16 - Chancery

Section 1, 2, 3, and 5 to be under the existing

subtitle "Alimony"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1973 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) 1, 2, 3, and 5 and the subtitle
"Abatement and Revivor" of Article 16 - Chancery, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:
