penal institutions, or other places of confinement;

[(c)] (III) The security of all State and
county courts and perform such duties as may be required of
them by [said] THE courts;

[(d)] (IV) The transportation of all
legally detained persons; AND

[(e)] (V) Neither the Sheriff of Prince
George's County nor any of his deputies shall conduct
criminal investigations, except in matters concerning the
Sheriff's department or upon request of the courts.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Regulatory Programs Evaluation Act of 1978
(Sunset) - Modifications

FOR the purpose of providing that before June 1 of the year
preceding the evaluation date of the boards and
commissions provided by the Sunset Act, a legislative
evaluation committee shall be appointed by the
President or Speaker, or jointly by both of them;
providing that the legislative evaluation committee, in
lieu of a Senate or House of Delegates Committee, shall
prepared prepare by a certain date a certain evaluation
plan for the boards and commissions required to be
evaluated by the Sunset Act; providing that the
legislative evaluation committee report its
recommendations to the General Assembly by a certain
date; and relating generally to evaluation plans and
reports under the Regulatory Programs Evaluation Act of
1978.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
