CHAPTER 397

(House Bill 508)

AN ACT concerning

Motor Vehicles - Right-of-Way

FOR the purpose of requiring a vehicle traveling on a
certain highway to yield the right-of-way to vehicles
traveling on certain other highways at "T"
intersections without traffic control devices.

BY adding to

Article - Transportation
Section 21-401.1
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1977 Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

21-401.1.

IF A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE IS NOT AT THE INTERSECTION,
AT A "T" INTERSECTION WITH NO TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE, ANY
PERSON DRIVING A VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY THAT INTERSECTS BUT
DOES NOT CROSS ANOTHER THE OTHER HIGHWAY, SHALL YIELD THE
RIGHT-OF-WAY TO ANY VEHICLE TRAVELING ON THE OTHER HIGHWAY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
