FOR the purpose of withdrawing, recalling, and repealing
Chapter 646 of the Acts of 1979; providing that Chapter
646 of 1979 shall not be submitted to a referendum of
the qualified voters of Garrett County; creating an
elected Board of Education in Garrett County;
establishing terms of office; providing for removal of
members and vacancies on the Board; providing for the
election of a president and vice president; providing
for expenses for the members; delineating certain
functions and responsibilities of the Board; providing
for filing and election procedures in primary and
general elections; generally relating to an elected
school board for Garrett County; and submitting this
Act to the qualified voters of Garrett County for their
adoption or rejection.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Chapter 646 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1979 be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:
