thereafter       - 100 scholarships

there shall be 25 scholarships in fiscal year 1982 and 50
scholarships in fiscal year 1983 and in each fiscal year
thereafter. Funds shall be available as provided in the
budget.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Howard County - Rate of Redemption for Tax Sales

FOR the purpose of establishing the rate of redemption for
certain properties in Howard County sold by the tax
collector, upon which certain taxes are in arrears.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

Section 83(b)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

83.

(b) The rate of redemption is 6 percent per annum
except as follows:

(1)  In Baltimore City the rate is 6 percent per
annum or as fixed by ordinance of the City Council; and

(2)  In Baltimore County the rate is 6 percent
per annum or as fixed by ordinance of the County Council;
