FOR the purpose of providing that the Carroll County
Commissioners and certain public agencies in Carroll
County may not take certain action regarding the
purchase of real property except at a public meeting
and unless certain public notice has been given.

Section 5D

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1973 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, that section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

5D.

(A) IN CARROLL COUNTY, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR ANY
PUBLIC AGENCY OF THE COUNTY MAY NOT TAKE FINAL ACTION TO
PURCHASE ANY REAL PROPERTY UNLESS:

(1)  THE ACTION IS TAKEN AT A PUBLIC MEETING; AND

(2)  REASONABLE PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO
PURCHASE THE REAL PROPERTY HAS BEEN GIVEN AT LEAST 15
CALENDAR DAYS BEFORE THE MEETING.

(B) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION
DO NOT APPLY TO THE PROCUREMENT OR ATTEMPTED PROCUREMENT OF
AN OPTION TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - Pinball Machines and Music Boxes

FOR the purpose of providing that, in Carroll County, the
tag required to be affixed to each licensed pinball
machine and music box, showing that the license fee for
the current year has been paid, need not be a metal
tag.
