AN ACT concerning

Dorchester County - Sanitary Districts -
Shared Facilities

FOR the purpose of defining certain terms; granting certain
powers to the Dorchester County Sanitary District,
Inc., and other bodies, to provide sanitary service to
shared facilities in Dorchester County; providing for
the method of creation of shared facilities; providing
for certain financing of the service to shared
facilities; and relating generally to sanitary services
to shared facilities in Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

645.

(P) THE TERM "SHARED FACILITY" MEANS A WATER SYSTEM OR
SEWERAGE SYSTEM SERVICING AN AREA CONSISTING OF (1) MORE
THAN ONE LOT OF LAND, (2) MORE THAN ONE USER ON A SINGLE LOT
OF LAND; OR (3) A SERIES OF INDIVIDUAL WATER OR SEWERAGE
SYSTEMS ON INDIVIDUAL LOTS OF LAND.

(Q) THE TERM "USER" MEANS A CONNECTION FROM A SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENCE OR EQUIVALENT THEREOF, TO A SHARED
FACILITY.

(A) (1) THE DORCHESTER COUNTY SANITARY DISTRICT, INC.,
IS HEREBY GRANTED AND MAY EXERCISE ALL POWERS NECESSARY TO
CARRY OUT THE FUNCTIONS RELATING TO THE FURNISHING OF
SERVICES TO A SHARED FACILITY.

(2) THE DORCHESTER COUNTY SANITARY DISTRICT,
INC., IS AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE, HOLD, LEASE, BUILD,
CONSTRUCT, OWN, OPERATE, REPAIR, MAINTAIN, AND IMPROVE A
SHARED FACILITY IN DORCHESTER COUNTY AND TO ENTER INTO
