CHAPTER 285

(Senate Bill 858)

AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Statute of Limitations on
Certain Offenses

FOR the purpose of increasing the period of time in which

prosecution for making false statements and other

unlawful acts of the unemployment insurance laws must
be brought.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

Section 17(f)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1969 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

17.

(f) Prosecution under subsections (a), (b) and (c) of
this section must be commenced within [two] 3 years from
date of the commission of the offenses described therein.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
applies only to offenses committed after the effective date
of this Act.

SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
