FOR the purpose of changing the name of the Maryland Arts
Council to the Maryland State Arts Council; and
clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Maryland STATE Arts Council
399.

(a) There is [hereby created the] A Maryland STATE
Arts Council which shall be part of the Department of
Economic and Community Development.

(d) Members of the Maryland STATE Arts Council shall
serve without compensation, but each member shall be
reimbursed for his necessary traveling and other expenses
incurred in the performance of his official duties in
accordance with the standard travel regulations.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
