Contributions for funding
increased requirements for
the State's share of Social
Security imposed by the
impact of authorized salary
adjustments; and $481,000 of
the authorized General Fund
appropriation may be
transferred to the
Department of Assessments
and Taxation to implement,
according to law, countywide
salary increases to the
State Department of
Education to implement
mandated adjustments to
teachers' salaries, and to
the Maryland School for the
Blind to implement employee
and teacher salary
adjustments.
From Special and Federal
Funds, for payments required
as a result of salary
adjustments and increases
and for increased costs for
Social                             Security

contributions resulting
therefrom, authorization is
hereby granted to use
Special and Federal Funds
for this purpose, in the
amount of $19,443,000 to be
payable out of revenues and
grants which are the source
of funds for the payment of
budget appropriations
payable out of Special and
Federal Funds; this amount
being estimated and it being
the intent that the actual
amount, whether it be more
or less, shall be made
available in allocating by
budget amendment to the
various State agencies the
amount necessary to
supplement                               the

appropriation.
