(2) (ii) It does not apply to or affect
special Class C licenses issued under the provisions of this
article, or apply to special Class C licenses issued in
Washington County for temporary use. This section does not
require the holder of any Class A (off-sale) beer license in
Washington County to close his place of business on Sunday
provided the licensee shall close that part of his place of
business from which beer is sold. This section does not
apply to any Class B beer, beer and light wine or beer, wine
and liquor license (on-sale) hotel and restaurant in
Washington County whose total food sales comprise at least
65 percent of its total sales volume, or to any Class C
beer, wine and liquor license (on-sale) club in Washington
County, and under either of the class of licenses it is
lawful to keep for sale and to sell in Washington County for
consumption on the licensed premises, with meals only,
alcoholic beverages on Sundays between the hours of 12 noon
and 9 o'clock p.m. THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY CLASS
D LICENSE (ON-SALE) IN WASHINGTON COUNTY AND IT IS LAWFUL TO
SELL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON SUNDAYS FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE
LICENSED PREMISES ONLY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1 P.M. AND 9
P.M. Licensees selling alcoholic beverages on Sunday shall
pay an annual fee of $250 in addition to their annual
license fee.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

FOR the purpose of providing that Class A (off-sale)
licenses in Washington County may stay open until a
certain time; and clarifying language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
