A resolution to repeal and reenact with amendments
Section 114 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, 1961 Edition with amendments thereto. Title
"Worcester County", subtitle "Berlin", (§C15-4 Penalties) by
providing for the specification of violations of ordinances
as a municipal infraction.

[Section 114 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Worcester County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date December 10, 1978]

CITY OF BOWIE

CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION NO. 15-78

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWIE,
MARYLAND adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11E of
the Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended)
to amend Section 36 entitled "Vacancies" said section being
Section 5-36 of Subtitle 5 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1963 Edition, as amended),
which Article contains in whole or in part the Charter of
the City of Bowie, by repealing and re—enacting with
amendment said Section 36.

WHEREAS, regular elections are held only once every two

years; and

WHEREAS, vacancies in the office of mayor or on the
city council may occur long before the next regular
election; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to fill vacancies by special
election when feasible; and

WHEREAS, it is feasible to hold special elections in
the month of April; and

WHEREAS, several months notice is reasonably required
