STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland
on November 7, 1978, an Act known as Chapter 973 of the Acts
of 1978 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning State Short-Term Notes. For the
purpose of authorizing the State Treasurer, subject to
approval by the Board of Public Works, and as provided, to
make and sell short-term notes in the name of the State in
anticipation of the collection of taxes, or other revenues,
including the proceeds from the sale of bonds, subject to
certain conditions; and submitting this amendment to the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption
or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election,
246,098 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 973
and 278,063 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 973, the said Chapter 973 of the Acts of 1978 has
therefore failed ratification.
