Senate Bill No. 1127
AN ACT concerning
Chapter 896 of the Acts of 1978 — Worcester County Jail
FOR the purpose of amending Section 1 of Chapter 896 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1978 to alter the total
authorization of the State Debt created by that Act;
the proceeds to be used for the purpose of assisting in
the financing the costs of construction and equipping
of a Worcester County jail facility; and extending the
date by which Worcester County must provide at least an
equal and matching fund amount for the same purpose.
May 29, 1979
Honorable James Clark, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1127.
This bill repeals and reenacted the Worcester County
Jail Loan of 1978 to authorize the creation of a State debt
in the amount of $2,2 50,000 for the construction and
equipping of a Worcester County Jail facility.
House Bill 1817, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 29, 1979, accomplishes the
same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
1127.
