Public Service Commission. Upon application of    a company

for an adjustment the Commission is required to  conduct an

investigation and hold public hearings prior to    issuing a
final order regarding the application.

While I am aware that an adjustment may result in lower
electric bills for some customers, I am also aware that
electric bills have increased, rather than decreased, when
the fuel-rate adjustment has been applied.

The sponsor agrees that Senate Bill 1052, as amended,
does not achieve its intended purpose.

For these reasons I have decided to veto Senate Bill
1052.

Senate Bill No. 1056
AN ACT concerning

Oyster Culling

FOR the purpose of providing that in inspecting culled

      oysters a bushel of oysters shall be selected at random

     and providing that possession of a sample of oysters

containing more than 5 percent of small oysters and

Resources Article all small oysters and cultch that
adhere to marketable oysters may not be separated in
certain cases; and making this Act an emergency
measure.
