more than 3 consecutive 3—year terms. Vacancy in a Board
membership shall be filled in the same manner as for a full
term.

(4) After notice and an opportunity for hearing
and with the advice of the Secretary of Health and Mental
Hygiene, the Governor may remove any member from the Board
for neglect of any duty required by law or for incompetency
or unprofessional or dishonorable conduct.

(c)    Each member of the Board shall:

(1)    Be a citizen of the United States and a
resident of Maryland;

(2)    fake and file with the proper State
authority the oath prescribed by Article 1, § 6 of the
Maryland Constitution before beginning the members term of
office;

(3)    Be licensed under this subtitle;

(4)    Be certified in theory of electrolysis by
an institution of higher learning and a graduate of a Board
approved school of practical electrology; and

(5)    Have been actively engaged in the practice
of electrology for at least 5 years immediately preceding
appointment or reappointment.

(d)    (1) The Board shall:

(i) Adopt and revise standards of
electrology practice performed by registered electrologists;

(ii) Prescribe standards for educational
programs preparing persons for licensure under this
subtitle;

(iii) Provide for surveys of those programs
at whatever times it considers necessary;

(iv) Maintain a current list of schools or
institutions whose programs meet the requirements of this
subtitle and of the Board;

(v) Examine, license, and renew the
licenses of qualified applicants;

(vi) Conduct hearings upon charges calling
for discipline of a licensee, penalty, denial, revocation,
or suspension of a license;

(vii) Cause the prosecution of all persons
violating this subtitle and have the power to incur
necessary expenses relating to the prosecution;
