Ch. 709

treasurer shall, upon entering the performance of their
duties, be covered by a surety bond in accordance with the
provisions of §§ 46 through 50 of Article 78A of this Code.
[Three (3)] FOUR members of the Authority shall constitute a
quorum[, but in no case shall] AND any action taken by the
Authority SHALL be [taken] by an affirmative vote of [less
than three (3)] AT LEAST FOUR members. [No] A vacancy in
the membership of the Authority or disqualification of a
member under § 266AA Thereof impairs] DOES NOT IMPAIR the
right of the quorum to exercise all rights and perform all
the duties of the Authority. All members of the Authority
shall be reimbursed for their expenses incurred in the
performance of their duties in accordance with the standard
travel regulations.

[(e)] (D) The Governor shall appoint either the State
treasurer or the State Comptroller as an ex officio member
of the Authority. The Secretary of Economic and Community
Development or his designee shall also be an ex officio

member of the Authority.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning

Indian Housing Authorities

FOR the purpose of enabling an Indian tribe to establish a
housing authority upon approval of the governing body
where the authority is located; specifying the powers
of an authority; enabling the Department of Economic

and Community Development or a local housing authority

to act on behalf of an Indian or Native American

Indians or an Indian tribe in Maryland as a local

public agency or housing agency; and clarifying the
definition of "housing authority" and "authority."

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 44A - Housing Authorities

Section 3(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)
