shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning
CHAPTER 696
(Senate Bill 442)
Maryland—Services for the Blind
FOR the purpose of changing the name of Blind Industries and
Services of Maryland to Maryland—Services for the
Blind; providing that by a certain date a certain
number of blind citizens shall be members of the Board
of Directors; designating Maryland Services for the
Blind as the solo agency responsible for programs and
training for the blind; transferring all powers,
duties, functions, and funds of a certain division to
Maryland Services for the Blind;-authorizing Maryland
Services for the Blind to adopt rules and regulations;
establishing Maryland—Services for the Blind as the
licensing agency under a certain Act of the United
States; establishing a committee of blind persons;
transferring employees to Maryland—Services for the
Blind; clarifying language; repealing—inconsistent
laws; and generally relating to Maryland—Services for
the Blind.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 30 - Deaf, Mute or Blind
Section 3; 5, 6, 6A, 6B, 8, 9, and 10 to be under the
amended subtitle "Maryland Services for the
Blind and the Maryland School for the Blind":

Blind Industries and Services of Maryland — Employees
FOR the purpose of defining the relationship between Blind
Industries and Services of Maryland, the Division of
Vocational Rehabilitation, and certain persons for
certain purposes; and providing for the effect of this
Act on a person's entitlement to certain benefits.
