ABATEMENT OF THE TAX IMPOSED BY THIS SECTION ON THE
CONVEYANCE OF TITLE OR INTEREST THEREIN TO THE THIRD PARTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

CHAPTER 687

(Senate Bill 1058)

AN ACT concerning

Theft—Related Offenses and Bad Checks

FOR the purpose of providing clarifying and qualifying
language to certain provisions pertaining to
theft—related offenses and bad checks; modifying
certain provisions pertaining to theft—related offenses
and bad checks; specifying certain penalties; modifying
and clarifying certain definitions pertaining to
theft—related offenses and bad checks; reenactinq
certain provisions that were repealed by Chapter 849 of
1978 which pertain to fraud by fiduciaries, and failure
to return rented motor vehicles and other rented goods;
changing penalties for certain breaking and entering
offenses; specifying a statute of limitations for
certain theft offenses; and generally relating to
theft—related offenses and bad checks.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

Section 141 (a) (1) and (b)(1), 142(a) and (b) (2) (i) ,

143(b), 340(d) and (e) , (e) , (h) and (j), 342(b)
and (f) (2) , and 343 (b) (as enacted by Chapter 849
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1978)
