[516.
(a) Nothing contained in §§ 492 and 522 of this
article shall be construed to prohibit or make unlawful the
exhibition of motion pictures, the operation of any
miniature golf course or any swimming pool, the operation of
any bowling alley, tenpin alley, or duckpin alley or any ice
skating or roller skating rink or the observation of or
participation in any amateur athletic contest after two
(2:00) o'clock p.m. on Sunday in Talbot County, whether the
same be exhibited or operated with or without a charge or
admission fee. The work or employment of any operator,
ticket seller or other employee or attendant in connection
with such exhibition or operation shall not be unlawful
because performed on Sunday. Provided that nothing in this
section shall apply to any premises licensed for the sale of
alcoholic beverages. And nothing contained in §§ 492 and
522 of this article shall be construed to apply in any
manner to skeet shooting, trapshooting, target shooting or
any similar discharge of firearms conducted by an organized
rod and gun club. No labor or work performed by such rod
and gun club or its employees related to skeet shooting,
trapshooting, target shooting, or any similar discharge of
firearms shall be considered unlawful because performed on
Sunday.
(b) Any person, firm or corporation violating any of
the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to
a fine of not more than one hundred ($100.00) dollars, for
each and every such violation.]
521.
(a) No person in this State shall sell, dispose of,
barter, or deal in, or give away any articles of merchandise
on Sunday, except retailers, who may sell and deliver on
said day tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, candy, sodas and soft
drinks, ice, ice cream, ices and other confectionery, milk,
bread, fruits, vegetables, gasoline, oils and greases.
(b) In Anne Arundel, Kent[,] AND Queen Anne's [and
Talbot] counties, in addition to the articles of merchandise
hereinbefore mentioned, retailers may sell, barter, deal in,
and deliver on Sunday the following articles of merchandise:
butter, eggs, cream, soap and other detergents,
disinfectants, vegetables, meats, and all other food or
foodstuffs prepared or intended for human or household pet
consumption, automobile accessories and parts, boating and
fishing accessories, artificial and natural flowers and
shrubs, toilet goods, hospital supplies, thermometers,
camera films, souvenirs, surgical instruments, rubber goods,
paper goods, drugs, medicines, patent medicines, and all
other articles used for the relief of pain or prescribed by
a physician; provided, however, that nothing in this
subtitle shall be construed to prevent the operation of any
retail establishment on Sunday, the operation of which does
