contraband of law as a gambling device or as a part of a
gambling operation. All rights, title, and interest in and
to such money, currency, or cash SEIZED BY THE POLICE OF THE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT shall immediately vest in and to the local
governments of the city and counties COUNTY, MUNICIPALITY,
OR BALTIMORE CITY, or if seized by State authorities, to the
State, and no such money, currency, or cash shall be
returned to any person claiming the same, or to any other
person, except as provided in this section. The Baltimore
City police department is not a State authority for the
purposes of this section.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning

Adult Protective Services

FOR the purpose of granting immunity to law enforcement
officers performing certain duties.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 13-710

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1974 Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Estates and Trusts

13-710.

(A) Any person filing a petition, participating in the
making of a good-faith report, participating in an
investigation or in a judicial proceeding resulting
therefrom, pursuant to § 13-705, § 13-709 or § 109, Article
88A, shall in so doing be immune from any civil liability or
criminal penalty that might otherwise be incurred or imposed
as a result thereof.
